This time of year I think about my Uncle Robert. Every summer I worked in the tobacco fields for him and my Aunt Rosa. He grew the sweetest watermelons and the biggest okra. Uncle Rob always knew where the fish were biting in fresh or salt water. He was a BIG man, with a big laugh and an even bigger heart. The world needs more folks like Uncle Robert.
One of my favorite authors', Louis L'Amour, autobiography is titled "Education of a Wandering Man." In this work he tells his story and describes his education coming from many different forms. In much the same way, this blog is an attempt to tell my story and memories and thoughts of a Wondering Southern Boy from Southeastern NC. Thank you for taking this journey with me.
